Facebook is an amazing social network  for any local business marketing efforts.  The top reason for having  Facebook advertising is that you can easily target your customers on their location, likes, marital status and so forth.  If you are a business who knows your market demographic well Facebook is the place to market your local business.  It is a great place to build your business brand, create stronger relationships with customers and start generating referral business products and services.  You do this by keeping your  customers engaged by sharing your knowledge and expertise in your business.

However many business owner wanting to start using Facebook for their marketing not really understanding what is needed for an effective Facebook marketing strategy.  To market a local business you should start by creating a Facebook Fan Page.  This is where a lot of business owners tend to go wrong with Facebook because they think that a personal Facebook page is where to market their business, it is not a Facebook page is for connecting with friends not for marketing a business.  To brand and market your business on Facebok you need a Fan Page for your business.

You engage your customers through a Facbook Fan Page by linking or syndicating all your informational content your business blog

, your business YouTube channel and your Twitter.  It is easy to integrate all these social content networks by using what are called applications or apps.  For blogs I recommend an application called NetworkedBlogs, it migrates your blog posts to your Fan Page wall.  The best part about this app as opposed to just using the notes application, is that if someone clicks on the link to read your blog they are taken to your business blog where you can promote and sell any products and services for your business.

To integrate you YouTube channel and Twitter to your fan page you need to get two apps from a website called Involver.com.  You can get two apps for free and I personally recommend YouTube, since videos will keep your customers engaged. Also video is a great way to get out any message to your clients in a fun, educational and entertaining way.  People love to watch videos.  The second application can be what ever social network or information sharing platform you may have for advertising your business, I personally use Twitter.

Another plus for Facebook advertising using Fan Pages is that you can get reviews and give feedback from your present and past customers.  This is a great way to generate social proof and further brand your business, so always encourage your customers to leave reviews.  More features that are fantastic for marketing and promotional purposes are the Discussion Board and the Events features.

The discussion board lets your customers or potential customers connect with your business. It enables them to get their ideas out in the open and lets you know what your customers and others think and want.  This is a great feature to really get to know your local market and what they really want when it comes to your business.

The events feature is great for announcing events that you may have happening for your business.  These could include meet and greet with customers, free seminars, special offers or even announcing new products or services that you offer.  The possibilities are endless and what's more this is free advertising to a very targeted audience.

If you already started using your personal Facebook page for business the best way to transition people on to your business fan page is to just simply invite them.  Most should accept especially if you share valuable information that they are interested in.  Another way to get more fans your you business page is to just promote it with Facebook ads.  This is very easy to do and if you already have a fan page you may have noticed that Facebook really wants you to do that and makes it really easy.  Just be sure to target your market demographic correctly.

If you are a local business using Facebook advertising be sure to specify your area that you do business in, ie. the location.  This will specifically target your customers to your area of business and won't waist your ppc costs on customers who are out of your range.  Yes Facebook ppc advertising costs but it is inexpensive compared with Google Adwords and you can really specify your target demographic.  You should also promote your Facebook fan page on your website, this is done what is called widgets, and is really simple include into your business blog.

Facebook advertising is about keeping your customers engaged, branding your business and standing you as an expert in your business niche at the same time. People who become fans of your business and services can easily become your future customers. These are people who have already raised their hands and shown interest in your products or services, this makes them more likely to do business with you.  Keeping your customers engaged on Facebook means you need to create quality contet on a regular basis.  Local business marketing with Facebook is an ongoing strategy but a very powerful one.

Facebook Advertising – Keeping Your Customers Engaged

When using blogging

for any small business advertising purposes it is important to have not only an attractive blog and good content but is also a great idea for your blog posts to have attractive images and graphics.  By graphics I mean either pictures or video that will  catch your visitors attention, educate or entertain them, depending on your niche.  Any graphics that your blog has should complement your blog as well as the particular blog post. This post is just meant to be a short blogging guide on where to get blog graphics to enhance your business message.

First I want to cation you about where you get your graphics especially if they come from the search engine results or if you just see a nice graphic on someone's website. That's because a lot of the images or videos have copy rights and are licenced.  If you decide to use a licenced image without getting rights to it or permission you can get an unpleasant e-mail or letter from a lawyer informing you that you owe someone thousands of dollars for that particular graphic.  That is why you always have to be aware of the licencing of any blog graphics that you use on your blog and any content you create.

There are ways of getting great graphics that you can use legally without ramifications. You can find some free licenced for reuse graphics on Google by doing an image search. To do this go to Google Image search and click on the "Advanced Search" options, look for the blue anchor text by the Google search box. Type what image you want then scroll down to the licensing option and select from the drop down menu " Licenced for reuse."  When you are looking for images on search engines to always do a search for graphics that are licenced for reuse.

A safer  way get blog graphics is purchase what is called royalty free photos and images.  What this means that you purchase the licence to use these photos.  There are several sites on which you can find amazing graphics for under a dollar that will enhance your blog posts.  My personal favorites are Fotila.com and iStockphoto.com.   You can use these images as is or alter them to suit your needs. For example adding text or your business name to create a quick logo for your business a Facebook Fanpage image for branding or a quick blog header. What  you can not do is to sell them or to give them away to people.

Another way to ad graphics is by adding video to your blog.  If you don't want to create videos you can find great videos created by others that have great information about your topic or niche on free sites like YouTube, Viddler, and many other video sharing sites. You can also outsource video creation and have professionally made videos created for your business both informational and promotional.

Another safe way to have all your content and images to have local business marketing firm create all your content written, blog graphics and videos  so that you can concentrate on running your business and serving your customers.

Small Business Advertising Blogging Guide – Where To Get Blog Graphics

How To Start A Blog – Creating Good Blog Content

Starting a blog and creating good blog content can be a scary thought to a lot of business owners however; writing a blog is not that difficult or scary as many local business owners might think. Most people hesitate  about writing because they were never any good at writing and might feel that they don't have anything to write about or because they believe they are not an "expert" in their niche. What many business owners don't realize is that it can very easy to create quality content if you are new to your market niche and are not yet AN "expert" in it.  But lets face is when it comes to Internet marketing for any local business in the greater Toronto area is critical to getting new customers and  creating good blog content is key to creatin"g faith, trust and good customer relationships.

To find good content all you have to do is do some quick research regarding any of the keyword terms that your niche market is using to find forums,

blogs

, and articles on the Internet and just read to educate yourself on the topics that are most important to your market.  That is how you become an expert in your field, by researching and learn about your topic just like when you learn a skill in school or and other skill in life.

Creating content for local business marketing can be very quick after you do your research and learn about your chosen topic.  All you need is 10 minutes to create an article.  This is a technique that was taught to me by one of the top Internet marketers Ed Dale.  You can use this technique for creating

blog

content for your small business marketing strategy.  After you read about your topic set up a timer for 10 minutes, be sure to go in to a quiet place where you will not be disturbed.

Write down the title for your new

blog

post, be sure it is keyword rich, then start the timer and just start writing and do not stop.  Write down everything you learned from your research. If make a spelling mistake don't go back to fix it, if you forget a detail just  write "I forgot this detail" and DO NOT go back to find it out.  Write everything that comes in to your head about your topic and even if you end up writing "blah blah sometimes. You are not editing your content you will go back and edit and fill in any details you forgot later.

When your 10 minutes are up stop writing.  Put away your article and do not look at it for 24 hours.  Yes your article will be bad, but here's the thing no one will see it but you.  But you can edit it all when you come back to it but now you have a rough draft for your article.   This technique will take time getting used because you have been taught in school to edit as you write.  With time your article first draft will get better and less editing will be needed.

Edit your draft 24 hours after you write it, strategically insert the keywords in your content, spell check, add any details that you missed and double check any facts that you included into your post. That is also the time you add any links and images to your

blog

post.  In no time you will be able to create articles on a daily basis quickly and easily branding yourself as an expert in your nice at the same time creating a powerful small business marketing strategy as you start dominating your local business market.

However if you still feel like you do not want to spend time creating articles and blog

post content but rather spend time growing your business and serving your customers or clients you can outsource blog content creation
