Rain Nutrition has chosen a well established path for their debut in the Multi Level Marketing business. Selling healthy and/or energy beverages has been around for quite some time, and it’s clear that there is a decent demand for this type of product. What is not so clear is why this company has chosen a market niche where large companies have already made a name for themselves and amount to dangerous competition. Surely, everybody needs a certain amount of specific substances every day, but very few are familiar with the exact quantities, and even fewer individuals actually care enough to check if the food and beverages they ingest actually provide that balanced amount. Apparently Rain Nutrition has taken this into account, and has come up with solutions to these two types of oversight, consisting of the actual beverages containing balanced quantities of nutrients and anti-oxidants, and a way to measure the level of free radicals in the human body. Moreover, it looks as they have taken marketing very seriously, as their logo is a very catchy one and their products bear interesting names relevant to the idea of being healthy in a natural way.

Having had its launch in May 2009, the company is based in Highland, Utah. Their management team comprises of the company president, Toby Norton, the CEO, Chad Christofferson, the CFO, by the name of Kyle J. Copeland and Bart Brockbank, holding the position of COO. It seems that they don’t consider their experience worthy of being mentioned, and instead they quote each member of the team and show a picture of them on the company website. This can mean that they want to concentrate on their current engagement with the company, but also that they may not have the relevant background, so they avoid mentioning that altogether. Even if the impression the company gives does not hint to the latter assumption, the apparent lack of experience of their management team can only be a disadvantage to them. Let’s see if they can compensate for this omission.

Rain Nutrition is present on the MLM market with five different products, comprised of three healthy drinks, a food supplement in the form of a pill, and a test kit for measuring the amount of free radicals in the human body. By carefully branding these products they managed to provide a convincing image of their company and products. Thus, their most important product is Rain Soul, a healthy drink containing a blend of ingredients extracted from Chardonnay Grape, Black Raspberry, Black Cumin and D-Ribose, providing the human body with the needed fatty acids and anti-oxidants. The same beverage comes in two other types, with vitamins and minerals added to the already present extracts, and acting as energy drinks on top of contributing to the overall health of the body. The food supplement we already hinted at is Rain Pure, a pill containing their patented BIO-tract® technology and a type of flour made from cranberry seeds. These pro-biotic pills are designed specifically to aid the bacterial flora present in the human digestive system. A common trait of these products is their fabrication process which employs a method known as cold press process, in order to fully preserve the healthy properties of their ingredients. Finally, their fifth product is the Free-Radical Urine Test Kit, completing the other four items sold by Rain Nutrition. This kit is designed specifically for the assessment of the amount of free radicals in the body, thus enabling the buyer to carefully adjust the intake of nutritional supplements, and not risk overdoing it.

Rain Nutrition uses a compensation plan altered according to their needs. It is essentially a binary plan with ten levels available, but combined with a Unilevel system. They devised four different categories of members, the Builder, the Executive, the Elite and finally the Rain type. The system overrides a common flaw in its kind, by automatically changing one’s sponsored marketers in direct relation to their performances, and in this way avoiding the situation in which a distributor is forced to work with a marketer with less or no activity. This all seems to make a promising company out of Rain Nutrition. But do they offer the means to be successful?

The closest thing to training offered by Rain Nutrition is advice. They advise their marketers to either capitalize on their warm market, which is a terrible approach nowadays, or to spend money by organizing meetings and presentations, which is equally obsolete, but with some chances of proving successful. Whichever alternative one may choose, it is almost sure that they won’t last long in the network marketing business.

Being a successful MLM entrepreneur means so much more than harassing your friends and relatives, or giving speeches and presentations to bored audiences. This is a concept not taken into account by the vast majority of MLM companies out there, and consequently one has to look for proper training by himself.
